Tropical Aquarium App Reviews

What an idea!

Youve rate the prise up to $1.99 and now you want me to pay more money to unlock the spieces and setups. Nice try

Best freshwater aquarium so far

Great displays, realistic fish movement, the ability to tap on the glass for interaction and an actually need to shake to feed so the fish can grow in size. However, unlike the reef tank by raiX, you have to pay an additional 99 cents to go premium for 5 more regular fishes and the ability to modify the display.

Great app

Very realistic, fish are great indeed but only if the upgrade is purchased. It is definitely worth the additional 0.99 for the premium. Wish there were more backgrounds and elements variety available maybe additional tanks as well. Thanks. Keep up the good job. Looking forward to future updates!

Beautiful and Realistic

This is like having a miniature aquarium on my desk. Most enjoyabe and relaxing app out there. It has its limitations as far as number of fish, but the selection, species, and size are quite nice. Like others, I dont like the "shake-hard-to-feed" method; woud prefer the TAP method. Nice to play classical relaxing music while watching my beautiful "pets" swim back and forth in their "world.". Nice job!

Beautiful...But...

Ouch! I love that this aquarium app is so realistic looking and beautiful, BUT it hurts my wrists to feed the fish!!! Why did you make it so that you have to shake the device so HARD? I have arthritis in my wrists so this takes away from the enjoyment of caring for my fish. PLEASE do something about this feature! Tapping is so much easier on my hands, as in Tapfish. Thank you.

Great realism!

This has very realistic fish and fish movements. The plants, while moving as in water currents, dont look quite as real but more like plastic plants. Who can always have real plants in an aquarium anyway? I nearly always have a mix of real and artificial so this isnt a problem for me. A couple of things Id like to see would be more plants and especially the ability to place them where I want rather than simply having to change whats at a particular location. Being restricted to only predefined location doesnt allow for much individuality. Id also like to see a bit more realism in fish size relative to each other. Fir instance, the pacu is only about twice the size of a black tetra here when in reality, a pace can be up to 30" while a black tetra is maybe 3". Id like the big fish to "grow" a little bigger. As fas as I can tell, the actual size doesnt change, only the stats show an increase in size. Overall, this is at least a 4.5 rating app.

Warning!! Do not get!!!!

Extremly boring. all it is you choose a fish and feed it. You can also turn on and off the light

More species please!!

I love the current fish, however I woul love to see more species and also female versions of the fish, schooling behavior would be awesome!! Maybe more realistic plants and the ability to move them where you want. So very real!!

Guppy Please

The guppy should be added since its the most widespread of the tropical schooling fish. It is available every where in the world (in Asia, Europe, africa, south America, north America and australia). Also female fish should be added so you can breed and stuff. That would make the game so much more realistic. It would be so cute to have baby guppies and mollies and other baby fish swimming around the tank. Everything else about the game is pretty realistic. Even though the plants look fake I think that is fine. In my tropical aquarium at my house I have fake plants and so it works out just fine in the game. All in all it is a good game. I would recommend it to all of my friends.

Tv output

This is a nice simple aquarium app that looks good and is not cartoonish. If they add saltwater, realistic size increase for the fish and tv output it would deffinately be a 5 star plus app!

Its rele boring

I cant believe it! 99 cents for a boring game. Thats not cool

Buyer beware!

You only get fish larger than a guppy if you pay for an upgrade!

Really good

I just bought this app and upgraded it and its as good as fish farm but there should be more tanks and more fish species also do the fish grow large like in real life? You know in real life pacu get pretty and and so do oscars : )

Tropical Aquarium

I love this wonderful app. Its perfect for watching something beautiful and calming the mind. For my purposes I like the more muted backgrounds in this freshwater aquarium (versus the beautiful but bright and busy coral reef backgrounds in my second-favorite app, its saltwater sister, My Reef 3D). Because the backgrounds in this app are more subdued, the eye is more able to focus on the elegant fish and their mesmerizing movements. If I could have anything I want (and Id be willing to pay additional for it), Id like this app geared up for the size and capabilities of the iPad. No shake-to-feed; prefer tap-to-feed like the reef tank. More blue/green color variations of Discus. Maybe not possible, but how great if the Discus could be made to sway together in schools like they really do. Add even more choices of colorful fish -- wrasse, maybe? Thank you for this amazing app!

Beautiful, restful and fun

This app is fun and restful. The images are astonishingly beautiful and accurate. The movements of the fish and plants, the sounds of bubbles and the "shake-shake" sound when "feeding" the fish are realistic. Much easier than the real thing! This app is great to run at bedside at night, or for a few minutes of calm during the day. The species even display some characteristic behaviors - the clown loach hangs out on the bottom a lot, for example. Next level of awesomeness would be to have the neon tetras form a school once in a while. Overall, a terrific app.

Thanks for the retina display update!!! Nice!

Extremely beautiful but Id like to be able to move the stuff around in the aquariums as easily as in MyReef3D and to be able to feed the fish as easily as well. Feeding and decorating are a bit too challenging in this app but its very beautiful and totally worth it, even more so now that its updated for the retina display! Must have for fish lovers!

Buyer beware!

What you get is the lite, teaser version, which is typically free. The difference is that I paid for this. If you want a functioning product, you need to upgrade to the premium version. R-I-P O-F-F!!! The version I purchased features a very limited number of tiny fish - it is no good at all like this, in spite of great potential.

AWESOME app! Photorealistic and sumptuous!

I used to raise aquarium fish; seeing angelfish, the Kribensis, harlequins, and neon tetras are really fantastic to see. The effort put into the fish alone makes this worth the price (sale or otherwise). Having stared at the screen for a while, noting the dozen neon tetras often schooling together also shows a level of accuracy I genuinely appreciate. The angel fish swim in their own directions... very relaxing. I would like to offer one small suggestion or two: More fish as a maximum, and if the fish could make baby fish (I used to breed angels and it was great fun to do)? iPad support would obviously be the ultimate gift... Id even pay again for those suggestions. $1.98 (net cost, I did buy the upgrade and the main app was on sale) is too low for this app. Good work really should be rewarded as it reflects well on the developer and it definitely makes Apple look better as well. As a programmer, I know this stuff is very complex to make.

Carnival hoax!

Those of you who are old enough know the carnival trick of paying your basic entry fee, getting inside and then finding that if youd like to see the whatever in a bottle w/o the curtain in front of it, you have to pay the special fee. This is that scam. I bought the app and after selecting one teeny, tiny fish, was locked out of any future selection unless I upgraded. Ive experienced the upgrade angle before, but NEVER have I been offered so little in the basic app. There have to be more honest apps along this line.

Awsome

But you should add some Goramis
